We have some family we want you to meet!

Well HELLO!

How is everyone?  I don't know about you guys... but, we have gone straight into hyperdrive since the summer began...  it is crazy!  God has been doing SO MUCH in the life of A Door To Hope, and we are so excited to share it with you!

I HAVE to introduce you to two of our newest family members!

Meet Ashley Hall, our new ADTH Operations Manager. We are so excited to have Ashley 'officially' join the family.  She has volunteered and helped with many projects and fundraising events in the past;  but,  she officially started with ADTH in May and has been diligently working on updating and rebuilding websites and streamlining databases.  She is so talented and driven to help A Door To Hope be the very best mission organization it can be.   The Lord has already used Ashley to spur on and challenge Brent and I - in the best way possible.  Ashley is the wife to Brian Hall, and mother to 2 of the most wonderful girls... Bridgett and Blakelyn (aka Ducky) Hall.   She has an engineering degree from Auburn University, and is FAR too qualified to work with Brent and myself, but we are grateful she is willing to help pull us up and stretch us!  I am sure she would love to meet all of you - so, if you feel so led - you can email her at Ashley@adoortohope.com  to say, "Hello" and "Welcome".

We would also like for you to meet Moises Sifren.  Moises is the Director of Maranatha Ministries in La Romano, Dominican Republic.  We had the privilege of meeting Moises in January 2020 - when we went to the D. R. to pray and seek if that was a 2nd location the Lord was calling us to serve. After 2 days of serving the Haitian community in the Batey's and sitting and getting to know Moises - the Lord AFFIRMED this was exactly where and who we were supposed to serve and partner with.

Moises was born on January 10, 1969, in the city of La Romana, but before this, he used to live in a batey (which is a company town consisting of barracks and a few houses - very poor compared to town). He is the second of 10 siblings, 1 male of 10 siblings. When he was a child he studied but also worked with his father selling sweets, shining shoes, carrying lunches to the sugar cane factory, and in all was a decent and honest worker. At age 14, his mother died of preeclampsia in the delivery of her last baby. That forced him to take care of his siblings and permanently help his father.

At the age of 21, he graduated from high school and immediately entered the O&M University in 1991, majoring in engineering in Computer Programming. In college he excelled in his area, becoming a monitor at the university to pay for his education.

In 1992, while still studying, he began to work in a factory in the city of La Romana, where he worked in the payroll department. After 2 years he was promoted to manager and from there he began running the Maranatha Ministry and then became administration for the local Hospital.

Moises has dedicated his life to helping all those that live in the Batey's - to help provide them with healthcare, food, education and access to the Gospel. He is such an incredible man, and we are HONORED to call him our friend.

So, as you can see... we have had some wonderful people join our organization, and the Lord is doing immeasurably great things in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.  We leave on July 24, 2021, for our VERY FIRST DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MISSION TRIP!!! We still can't believe it is actually happening, but it is - and, God has put together the most incredible team to join us on this INAUGURAL JOURNEY .  We are beyond excited to begin serving the Haitian Community in La Romano and for the Lord to reveal all HE wants to do in that area in and thru A Door To Hope.  We still have a few spots available on this trip - if you would like to know more about it... just click HERE.  If you are unable to join us, but would still like to be a part of this journey - we would be honored if you could PRAY for this team as we prepare to leave, PRAY for safety in traveling,  for the work to be done in the Bateys' and that the Lord would be glorified by every word, action and the meditation of our hearts.

IF you would like to DONATE to this trip - we are working to raise funds to FEED FAMILIES and PROVIDE VBS FOR 50 to 100 kids.  The cost of these projects have risen greatly since COVID - so, if you would like to help - we would BE BEYOND BLESSED AND HUMBLED.

Thank you for being a part of this family, and we look forward to sharing with you - all the Lord does in the Dominican Republic.
